Living is easy at Merrill Gardens. That's because we provide everything you need for an active, healthy life, from good nutrition and lots of physical and social activities to freedom of choice in everything you do–you even choose your own meal times.
Good nutrition starts with our Anytime Dining program, where our excellent chefs and waitstaff cater to your schedule, not theirs. And activity goes hand-in-hand with good nutrition. If you thrive on social contact, there are lots of fun things to take part in: trips to Mt. Rainier, museums and shopping malls and group walks on Alki Beach, to name just a few. If you prefer more time on your own, that's okay, too–after all, it's your home.
At Merrill Gardens, we've designed our communities to create and maintain your independence. Daily transportation schedules let you go where you like. Linen and cleaning services free you up to do more of what you want. Who knows, you might use your newfound time to travel, visit with family and friends or do something you've always wanted to do. Like write that novel!
Each Merrill Gardens property has a daily schedule of activities both within the community and outside of the community. Shopping trips, themed parties, cocktail social hours, beach walks and more are always happening at Merrill Gardens. We invite you to attend an event for free.
Landscaped gardens
A little sunshine is essential to good health. So at Merrill Gardens, we provide social spaces in garden settings where you can chat, play cards, have parties–in short, use them as your own backyard.
Library
An active brain is a healthy brain. Both Merrill Gardens communities in West Seattle have well-appointed libraries. You can relax quietly and read (many large-print volumes are available for those who prefer big type) or form book discussion groups with friends.
Movie Theater
At the 35th Avenue location, Merrill Gardens living includes a terrific on-site theater with a magnificent sound system. It's just like the regular movies, except instead of spending a fortune for your ticket.
And at the Admiral Heights community, the historic Admiral Theatre is literally across the street, so you can get some exercise and take in a movie at the same time.
Anytime Dining means you dine on your own schedule. Whip up snacks or meals in your own kitchen or kitchenette anytime you like. Or come to the dining room for two or three delicious meals a day, included in your rental rate, and choose from a full menu of delectable dishes served by our expert waitstaff. Drop in any time between 7:30am and 7:00pm to accomodate your schedule.
Merrill Gardens offers a complimentary, regularly scheduled driving service to get you where you need to go. Having safe, dependable transportation gives you freedom and peace of mind, especially in drizzly Northwest weather.
Merrill Gardens understands that pets are family, too, and that's why we invite you to bring along your small pet. Dogs, cats and birds are all welcome. Some units have outdoor patios with sliding glass doors, perfect for four-legged friends.
At Merrill Gardens, you can get a cut, trim, even a shave in the comfort of your community. Our salon offers licensed, professional stylists who will keep you looking your best!
Feeling safe and having access to health monitoring are important parts of leading a quality life. At Merrill Gardens, we provide 24-hour security services to ensure your safety. We also offer 24-hour care for medical emergencies and monitoring. If you should wake up in the middle of the night with a health concern, you can easily use our in-house emergency call system to ask a Merrill Gardens staff member to come to your aid. This personal service provides peace of mind for you and your family.
Caring is more than just providing assistance
Our assisted-living services focus on nurturing residents to help them reach their maximum potential. Our staff fosters independence, not dependence, and is sensitive to the individuality, privacy and freedom of choice our residents are entitled to. Care is what we do, not simply something we provide.
Personal care services
We develop individually tailored service plans that support each resident's own ability to perform activities of daily living. A basic level of assisted living care comes with the monthly rent at our Admiral Heights Community. At the 35th Avenue Community, assistance can be added to the monthly rent, tailored to your needs.

Teamwork
No person is an island, and each resident brings relationships with family, physicians, therapists and friends. At Merrill Gardens, we keep the lines of communication open and work as a team with a resident's existing support system to ensure his or her health and well-being and respond to any challenges we may encounter.
